Convenience store retailer RaceTrac announced on Monday that it has hired Jill Pemberton as Chief Financial Officer. She will report directly to RaceTrac CEO Natalie Morhous and will be responsible for the accounting, finance, tax, and treasury teams of the company and its brands, including RaceWay, Gulf, and Potbelly.
According to the announcement, Pemberton previously worked at LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer for the luxury group's North American region, which generates $20 billion in annual revenue. During her tenure, she led financial strategy and business performance, overseeing teams in accounting, financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury, information technology, procurement, and risk management.
Pemberton has also held financial leadership roles at media conglomerate Viacom, pharmaceutical and medical technology company Johnson & Johnson, food processing company H.J. Heinz, and Delta Air Lines. Additionally, she currently serves on the board of directors of lawn equipment supplier The Toro Company, where she chairs the Audit Committee.
Morhous said in the announcement: "Jill's extensive experience in financial strategy, long-term planning, business transformation, mergers and acquisitions, and operational excellence perfectly complements our growth strategy. She is a collaborative, people-focused leader passionate about talent development and building high-performing teams."

Pemberton succeeds Karla Ahlert, who recently became RaceTrac's first Chief Administrative Officer. In that role, Ahlert will oversee RaceTrac's shared services, including human resources, supply chain, special projects, and procurement.
This leadership change comes about four months after RaceTrac hired retail industry veteran Mark Gunn as its first Chief People Officer.
